It's tempting to suggest that socialists/liberals "read some history", but ultimately futile. History and reason are the socialist's two most feared enemies. For the true socialist, history begins anew every morning.

"Cartoons have been been fronting themselves as legitimate representations of reality? When did that start happening?" Well, I don't imagine they ever did, any more than silly movies like "The Da Vinci Code" ever did. It's just that, IMHO, some people take them waaaay too seriously, either as patrons or as critics. It's just a movie, people. So you see I wasn't presenting a strawman argument at all, or even an argument; 'tis merely satire, and a model of satire at that, if I do say so myself.

"It's the suggested god that Best believes in..." Ah, as opposed to the *actual* one.

Seems to me that this is religion in a nutshell: people explaining things they don't understand by dismissing them and/or making stuff up.

I would lose no sleep at night if I knew terrorists were being tortured, whether via waterboarding or electrodes, or some combination of both, and giving up information that would save lives. However, me, being somewhat gutless, would probably say whatever I thought would get the person to stop torturing me. Perhaps a hardnosed jihadist would last longer than I, but surely a point would be reached where they too would give up information whether it was genuine or not. My only issue with the torment/torture of al-Quaeda animals is, does it result in quality intelligence?
