Ten Years Ago The market has changed a lot since I since I entered the Utah insurance market in 2012. In 2002, the PPO plan deductibles offered in my state ranged from $0 and $1,000. There was no high deductible health plan, catastrophic only coverage, or major medical plans. I... Continue reading

Hi Roy (love the name BTW), I'm on the fence about someone in your situation. First of all, I think being single is a great opportunity to go with the better coverage (the Platinum Plan) because it's only you, and the price will be only slightly higher. However, the Gold plan may save you just enough to make it worth going with a few less benefits. Either plan will cover preventive care at 100% (which is mandated on all plans by the Affordable Care Act). Someone who's healthy and active may be just fine on a plan like the Gold plan. The good thing is, if you ever need to visit a family physician, it'll be covered with copays only! Give me a call at 801-679-0405 and let's run through the prices for both plans for you.

The Platinum and Gold Plans are quite similar, but they do have their differences. Some of those benefit differences are significant. The gold plan can be a great... Continue reading
