that's hilarious. i've never heard of movember before, although matt and his friends have moustache march which has nothing to do with benefiting men's health :) i would also be counting down the days until december 1st!

i'm getting to the point where i want to walk out on my job. not necessarily the job itself, or even the company, but the account executive i work with. i am an account manager, and i manage the accounts of an account executive. i like her as a person,... Continue reading

i'm a little underwhelmed and far less into typepad as i was vox. one of the things i miss is being able to read all of my "neighbor's" posts without having to be directed to another tab or page. i also dislike it that i'm not notified if comments are replied to. unless i have missed a setting somewhere? argh. not sure what to do. i miss vox! i think typepad has inspired me to be a much less active blogger. looking forward to any additional insight you might have into posterous! :) can you import on there, or no? i'd hate to lose all my stuff.

today, exactly a year ago, matt and i broke up and he moved out. it's been a bizarre day...since the whole awful day is burned into my brain, i find that i've been replaying it in my head all day. when i left for work, i thought about what he... Continue reading

eek - good luck with the thank you call. it's nice of them to give chaeli a present, but you're right, it's not a birthday or christmas or any another gift giving occasion. i think you can skip it this time around...or else you can have chaeli call :) that's what kids are

my new friend rachel practices buddhist meditation (one of the reasons why i think she's awesome and we get along so well). she, in conjunction with a book i just finished, have inspired me to work a little harder on my meditation and i think it's been more helpful than... Continue reading

i feel like it's been a while... it was a pretty good week for the yoga studio - i had a new couple come monday and the lady was really nice. her husband/boyfriend didn't speak english, so every once and while when he wasn't getting it, she'd explain what we're... Continue reading

so not only did matt's car die this week, unfortunately, it looks like his grandfather isn't far behind (and i hate it that the first sentence ended up stringing together so well in that way. i don't mean to liken his grandfather to a car). so yesterday i had a... Continue reading

i had sent out a little newsletter for my little yoga studio...just an update on the schedule of classes and a notice that we're doing a breast cancer fundraiser on sunday. the recipients were friends and family, some e-mail addresses of the massage clients at the day spa and people... thanks amy - we talked about it saturday night and i think i got through to him. he came over on sunday to watch football with me and he kept looking at me and telling me he loved me in this sighing kind of way. i asked him why he keeps saying it like that and his eyes welled up and he said that he hates it when i'm upset and he's frustrated because he keeps upsetting me...i reminded him that it's literally like 1 thing, 2 things at most, that he does over and over again that makes me upset and he can't expect it to get better just by ignoring it. he needs to do something to change it. he avoids any sort of confrontation like the plague. so i think i finally got it into his head that going to see his shows are more than just a territorial sort of thing. i didn't get into how i think that it could be that last thing that helps me get over everything, but i think i will eventually. it's those times, when he looks at me with welled up brown puppy dog eyes that i'm certain he's not being like this just to be a jerk...that he truly just doesn't know what to do, or what to say or how to go about changing his behavior. and don't worry, i will most definitely enlist girlfriends to come with when the time comes to go! if only you, hiatus and shy were close by! :)
matt's car broke down on his way to work this morning, and guess who he calls? and while i'm probably the only person he knows with a AAA card, part of me thinks it's sorta sweet when he calls me from the side of the road, nearly in tears, asking... Continue reading

hmmm...yeah...that's definitely a huge problem with women's adult costumes. they are all really trampy :) i was a go-go dancer one year and i bought a costume from a halloween store. it wasn't slutty, just kinda short, which i'm sure your husband wouldn't mind :) might be an option?

thanks girls - it's truly appreciated. hiatus - i do agree that maybe a different approach is needed...and while i'm totally uncomfortable about being in the same room as her, i know matt's even more uncomfortable with the situation and i can't force him to be ok with it. also, i've had half a mind to just show up to a show, but i don't want to be "that" girl. i want to respect his feelings, but i also think he's not going to get over his discomfort unless i sorta force him to. shy - i hadn't thought that seeing her may be the key to getting over that last little hurdle. you might be right there...i guess i'm just not sure if i'm ready for that. he has a show tomorrow night - like i mentioned to hiatus, i feel like i just need to show up (with a friend, for sure) and just be there to show him that it's fine...but then my stomach turns and drops at the thought of seeing her and i lose my nerve. i immediately lose confidence. the cd release isn't until like late november or early december...i think i'll keep it in the back of my head that i need to be ready by that time and it'll give me a goal and a date which i always work better with. whether i'm "allowed" or not, i'm going to go because you're right, i deserve to be there.
i am not really "allowed" to go to matt's band's shows since we've been back together. homewrecker (dixie) is usually in attendance to see the other bands play and he'd prefer that we not be in the same room. truthfully, i don't want to be in the same room with... Continue reading

summer - i'm SUPER's been a while since i've been this inspired and i love that communities are created that get together and trade these little pieces of art. there are also online communities that trade them all over the world. i think this saturday afternoon i'll be sitting in front of the television cutting, pasting and painting :) and i'm definitely looking forward to trading with you as well!

:) this made me laugh...well, i guess if you look at the bright side, instead of a serial kisser, he could be a total jerk and bite and snarl at people. aw...your puppy loves everyone...that's kinda cute.
