A great post and something which I will encourage all TEFLers to read.
I recently organised a local event in Cádiz and the feedback we received from it was incredibly positive. However, one of the questions asked was, "Would you be interested in speaking at a future event?" The response was a little disheartening. I think that every teacher has a wealth of experience to offer, but many people are worried that what they have to say isn't good enough or that people will have heard it all before. In the future, the plan is to organise a "Show and Tell" style event once a year: each participant comes with one idea they'd like to share. If we have 20 people attending, you walk away with 19 extra ideas. It takes a lot of the pressure off organising speakers and hopefully will encourage people to present workshops on the future.
