I'll have to check that movie out. You might want to check into the Amerithon. https://amerithonchallenge.com You don't have to be part of a team, you can do it on your own. It automatically syncs up with your Fitbit, so it makes it super easy. I'm pretty sure it will go back and pick up your steps from July 4th on. I've managed to walk 12 miles. I'm definitely not in the lead on my team, but it's made me walk more than normal. I don't get the medal package, so it's $25 and you can complete the miles at your own pace. I like it that it shows an actual place you have walked to.
Happy 4th of July!
This mid-week day off was refreshing. I got a walk in this morning, the start to the Amerithon. I'm part of a team to walk 3,521 miles across the US. I'm part of a team, and there's no deadline for completion. I've always wanted a way to see "where" I'm walking to, not just steps on the Fitb...
It's not you :) Nope, we've never met and I've probably learned more about you in these blog posts than in all of the time we've not met. :) Do whatever YOU need to do to get past this. You are fortunate to be surrounded by people who love and care for you, maybe for now, that's enough. :)

Today my mother, who is a demonstrative Italian woman, yet not as touchy feely or open as one might imagine, told me that I was beautiful, intelligent and nice, implying that I am somehow a prize in the romance department. ;) She never says stuff like that, so I was utterly shocked! I realize th...
We both have a wedding on the horizon--my daughter is getting married in less than 3 weeks. I'm heading back to Ohio to spend the weekend with my ex husband, my ex inlaws and all of those ex friends who I lost in the divorce. I'm not gonna lie I'm not real excited at the prospect and overwhelming sense of "this is going to be tough" type of feelings I am having. I'm going to do what I'm asked, try not to cause any ripples and hope that the little bit of pink that's still in my hair will not push the people who knew me when over the edge.
...and so what if it does? :)
My people
This is my tribe, who supports me in all things and loves me without boundaries: I cherish those who have called or texted to check up on me, even though in some cases they are going through much more serious stuff than a romantic breakup. That includes troubling medical issues, an elderly and ...

I always encourage people to find something that matters and works for them. For me it's been an ever evolving process. I struggled to get into the shelter to volunteer, they were trying to revamp their volunteer program. I tried another shelter and I knew at the first visit that it just wasn't for me. I started out doing "virtual" opportunities that meant that I could send things off. I started with Volunteer Match. You'll find your way, I'm confident.

Day 2...
It's a bit like riding a bike once you shake off the rust and start to write again. Most of the things I write these days are work related or fit into a small window--once in a great while a longer note posted to Facebook. A lot has changed in my life since 2010. I've loved and lost--travelled ...
I am so grateful for my tribe. It's always good to have people surround you that know your history and listen when sometimes we just need to vent. Thank heavens we don't have to wear breech cloths--but I'm thinking I would look pretty darn good in an Indian headdress.
The Journey
I've felt very untethered and lost today, wrapping my brain around some ugly truths. But I have also inched forward a bit by getting my first oil change in my car of almost a year. I don't drive much, can you tell? ;) I sent some much needed and satisfying complaint emails to the property manage...
I wasn't always that brave. Seriously most of my life was live on a farm in the middle of a cornfield. I had some catching up to do :)
Knock knock...
It's been 3 years since my last blog post. It feels like I've stepped into the confessional, but I don't have anything to confess and I'm not Catholic and I would never consider myself religious. Once upon a time I used to blog almost daily about the things that were on my mind. Then came Fa...

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do that the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." --Mark Twain
As someone who just hit the one year mark of making a cross-country life change I'm here to tell you Pauly that life is amazingly wonderful to those who take a chance and let go and love life.
I am very happy for you and David, and wish you many years of adventures and happiness. Sending a big hug your way. You are at least on my side of the US now, maybe one day our paths will cross and I can deliver the hug and well wishes in person. You are one very special person, and you deserve nothing less than the happiness that has come your way.
Moving...
Because my good friend Ted has been insisting that I tell this story, and since I just got another reminder about it from him on ravelry, here goes: Yes, you read that right. I'm moving. For many reasons, the most important one being that I met the love of my life and I need to be near him. S...
