rse The saddest part about the Adversity score is it hastens the transformation of higher ed from instilling a sold body of knowledge from which to build on the rest of your life to instilling a worldview that believes this world needs to be radically transformed. Yesterday our graduation speaker expounded on the importance of how one sees the world and the difference it makes. He quoted Frances Schaeffer: "People function on the basis of their world view more consistently than even they themselves may realize. The problem is not outward things. The problem is having, and then acting upon, the right world view — the world view which gives men and women the truth of what is." How many of our students are receiving the "right" world view? I would venture to say it's mostly just the opposite. Sad.

Candace Owens @RealCandaceO An internal memo from @facebook has leaked. They are offering “extra credit” to employees that can figure out how to segregate me from their platform. To the brave employee who leaked this— thank you. To lawyers that follow me— is this legal? I am taking this very seriously.

Congrats to Frederick - I think you brought them good luck, Jack. My children always seemed to perform better if their dad was present.

Prayers for Desmond for a full recovery! It's so hard when little ones face such a health crisis. Please keep us updated on his progress. I'm off to graduation this afternoon...

Robin - My tote just arrived this morning and I *love* it! I am now in the process of loading it with books for the beach. It is lovely and so well made. I am sure I will need another one before the fall. Teachers can never have too many totes! Thanks for the Apelbaum link, anonamom! He did an amazing job.

Bubarooni, I am so sad to hear the news about your Maddie! They take a part of our hearts with them.

I heard Don, Jr. on Levin last evening. He was great. I forgot the question but he replied about being falsely accused that he would fight back and said, "Yeah...I got that gene!" So that confirmed to me that President Trump will not roll over and let bygones be bygones. Another good quote - he said as his dad announced his intention to run for President and they stepped on the elevator, he said to him, "Now we are about to find out who our *real* friends are!" How true, how true! I would bet there were some real surprises and disappointments there!

Yes, Robin - I agree because I see great kids from involved families where I teach high school (private school.) I realize my students are in the minority but I have no doubt they will have an impact in their world. I also realize that reading the news can be disheartening and some days I feel like the proverbial person tossing one starfish back out to sea.

Sorry, henry - someone on Twitter posted the sentence as if it had been handed down. "Up to" is even worse in my opinion. If it were my 5-year-old, he would want the safety of prison for many, many years!!!
Just saw the balcony tosser of 5-year-old child got 19 years. Doesn't sound long enough to me - a true miracle the child isn't dead or permanently disabled.
I have discovered in the last month that people are very emotional and opinionated when you talk about food and diets. Keto is working well for me and I plan to continue eating this way but to avoid discussing what I am eating or why unless pressured to do so.

Sometimes, autocorrect makes me laugh. In my 3:16 tried to "correct' my "can't think of any dem on the..." to "can't think of any demon".

RE: Biden's mental state. I have concluded that the dems can be divided into two camps. The older ones seem to be slipping into senility but have no awareness of when it's time to move along and enjoy their last years. Ex: Pelosi, Biden, Feinstein, RB Ginsburg, Clinton, and more. Think of the clips we've seen of each of them slurring words, making no sense, freezing for seconds on camera, physically stumbling, falling, and so forth. This is in addition to their policy ideas insane schemes. Then, on the other side of the age gap - we have the young ones. They are spouting such off the wall, wacky plans that some of their supporters are even embarrassed. In that category, we have of course AOC, Abrams, Omar, Tlaib, and almost the entire slate of 2020 Presidential hopefuls (except Biden who is in group #1.) If they were so wicked and evil and trying to overthrow our country one could almost feel sorry... but nope. I can't think of any dem on the national scene that doesn't fit one of these categories.

Happy Mother's Day! Great Pieces, Clarice - Thank you! I miss Janet's posts and her ability to reach back in time and find perfect examples. A wet day here in Georgia but my roses are blooming, I successfully enticed the dogs to go out, and I'm having dinner out with my kids tonight - so a good day.

Driving to the vet this morning I was listening to Mike Gallagher. He was discussing the Burr subpoena of Don Jr. and taking caller reaction. Everyone I heard was outraged. Thoughts on why he did it ranged from blackmail to some type of payoff in actual $ or some lucrative gig after he leaves the Senate. Will Mitch reign him in?
I think that is a good sign, Buckeye. Sort of like choosing the restaurant with a full parking lot. Prayers for comfort as you wait.

Example: Rep. Hakeem Jeffries stated that President Trump embarrassed Strzok and Page who just "made mistakes!" Can anyone imagine a more asinine statement from anyone - much less a member of the judiciary committee? Boo Hoo Trump was so mean to those little love birds!

When I listen to 5 minutes of one of these hearings, I am convinced these dems are not just deranged but also possessed by some demonic spirit. They lie, they make all kinds of outrageous claims that have been proven false, they almost have horns growing out of their heads.
