~ Yay, it's Wednesday again and time for a new Color Throwdown challenge. This week our colors are Orange, Black, and Kraft. ~ ~ And here is the card I came up with using this great combo: ~ ~ Not a Halloween card, which is what you would expect with the color combo, but it definitely works for Fall/Autumn. I used the Blessed Blooms stamps and dies from The Greetery. I also used Simon Says Stamp Floating Leaves stencil for the background, blended in ombre shades of orange using Taylored Expressions Blender Brushes and distress inks. Come play along with... ~ Hey y'all! It's Wednesday, Hump Day, the day we start a brand new Color Throwdown challenge! This week our colors are Purple, Green, and Khaki! ~ ~ Pretty cool inspiration photo, huh? But I didn't go the cool watercolor route because I needed a card for a fun young man; so I went with a "punny" card using Toadstool Garden dies from The Greetery. And a super cool sentiment from the You Aren't Normal set from Technique Tuesday. ~ ~ The inside of the card says "You're really awesome (then again, so am I)! LOL!! Same sentiment set. We... ~ Hello, all! It's time for another Color Throwdown challenge and this week I am the hostess. With the days getting a little cooler, I've resigned myself to the fact that summer is officially over. So this week I've chosen some rich beautiful Autumn colors - Red, Orange, and Purple. ~ ~ I had just received the new to me Sizzix thinlet dies called Cut Out Leaves. They are so cool and I couldn't wait to use them. Because the actual open areas were not very big I knew I wanted to use vibrant colors that would shine through! So... Continue reading

~ Happy Wednesday! We have a brand new Color Throwdown for you today! The generic colors we are using this week are Gray, Kraft, Green, and White. ~ ~ I love that outdoor room! And since the dominant color is green I decided to use the brand new to me Simplicity digital images from Graciellie Designs. I won it in her Instagram giveaway! ~ ~ For the background I used what I call the "brush drag" technique. After the leaves were colored with Copic markers, I used the brush end of both a gray and a pale blue marker (one... Continue reading

~ Hello, and happy Friday! Today I have another Autumn card, chock full of colorful leaves. I've used the Power Poppy Plenty of Leaves digital image and a sentiment from the Ultimate Poppy digital stamp set. ~ ~ This card is 5.5" square, so rather big! After I colored all the leaves with Copic markers, I distressed the edges with my scissors. Do any of you remember when that was all the rage? I also colored an additional oak leaf and popped it up on foam mounting tape. Be sure to drop by the Power Poppy blog to see which... Continue reading

~ Happy Wednesday, y'all! It's time for a brand new Color Throwdown challenge! I chose to use a cute image from The Cat's Pajamas stamp set called This Could Be Vodka. It's such a great set and I thought it would work perfectly for a masculine birthday card. ~ ~ I made the tablecloth by coloring the plaid with a Copic marker. A really simple, fun card! Today I am pleased to introduce you to the elegant Healing Bouquet. ~ ~ The image for my card was water colored using Distress inks (listed below in supplies). I love this so much!! ~ Happy Friday! Today I have a mixed media (sort of) card for you using Big Sexy Blooms and Good Thinking: Renewal, both from Power Poppy. ~ ~ I stamped and heat embossed the Big Sexy Blooms background stamp and water colored just these 2 flowers. Then I cut them out. When I water color using distress inks I normally just smoosh the ink pads into my craft mat and pick up the color from there. So I sprayed the ink on the mat with water and smooshed another piece of water color paper into all the ink, let it... Continue reading

This week our hostess Amy Rohl has a great color combo for us: Black, White, and Terracotta. ~ ~ I love this combo, and it's perfect to use for a teenage boy's birthday card! I pulled out some old (and apparently all retired) Papertrey Ink stamp sets and that was all I needed for the card. ~ ~ I totally CASEd the corner blending technique from Ardyth Percy-Robb. Her samples are much more colorful; I was trying to keep mine subdued....especially with this color combo! We hope you'll... Continue reading
