~ Happy Wednesday! It’s time for the latest Color Throwdown challenge! Our fearless leader, Barbara, has a great combination that’s perfect for a Christmas card – Salmon, Red, Green, and Gray. ~ ~ So that’s what I made – a Christmas card with an unconventional image! ~ ~ I used Layered Poppy and the Most Wonderful sentiment from Rubbernecker Stamps for my card. The Layered Poppy is a two-step stamp so it’s super easy to stamp. I added a little bit darker red with a watercolor brush to the flowers, then splattered the red across the layer. I thought the... I used it along with the Watercolor Forest and a vertical sentiment from the Happy Birthday stamp set. ~ ~ I die cut the deer from both brown and kraft cardstock and sponged the edges of the lighter colored deer with some brown ink. For the background I smooshed 3 Distress... Continue reading

Festive enough for Christmas cards; cozy enough for a winter’s afternoon coloring session. This scene features a trio of hybrid tea roses arranged with crisp white snowdrops and variegated holly. ~ As much as I’ve been trying to fight it, it seems that Autumn is upon us. It’s October and although we have a couple of more days of 80+ degree weather coming up this week here on the lower East coast, after that the highs will be in the 70s for a while. I can live with that. At the Power Poppy shop and the Power Poppy blog Autumn is in full swing and you just won’t believe the awesomeness of the latest digital stamp set called Painting Pumpkins! ~ ~ There are 3 sets of pumpkins and 4... ~ ~ Hello! There’s a brand new Power Poppy image being released today! It’s called Fall Wellies and it’s the perfect blending of beautiful and whimsical! ~ ~ Isn’t that great? Here are Marcy’s notes about it: When there’s a crispness in the air and a vibrance in the leaves, you want to bring that wonderful fall feeling into your cards. It's only natural! This snappy tartan boot (known as a welly, British slang for Wellington) looks quite cute paired with falling Japanese Maple leaves. ~ Well, it’s Wednesday again, so you know what that means! It’s time for a brand new Color Throwdown challenge! This week our hostess, Vickie, chose a super fun color combo for us: Red, Orange, and Blue. ~ ~ I went with a super easy card this week, using a retired (?) Simon Says Stamp set called How We Roll. ~ ~ The hardest part, which wasn’t hard at all, was air-brushing the background. I kept the Wonky Rectangle die on the cardstock while I did that. We would LOVE for you to play along with us this week. All... Continue reading

It’s the 25th of the month again (I still can’t believe it’s August already!), so it’s time for a brand new Keeping Christmas blog hop! ~ ~ It took me longer than I would have liked to get my card done this month, but I think if all the background pieces could be done ahead of time, the rest of the card would come together pretty quickly.
