~ Hi there, y'all! I'm hosting this week's Color Throwdown challenge and I'm excited to share my card with you today. Here are the colors I've chosen - Aqua, Lime Green, and Navy. ~ ~ I'm excited to show you my card because for the first time in a long time I made a mixed media card, using both acrylic paints and dye ink. ~ ~ It was really fairly simple, and so much fun! First I stenciled the rainbow using a screenprint stencil from Hobby Lobby with the acrylic paints and Distress ink (links in supply list at the... Continue reading

~ Hello there, folks! This week our Color Throwdown colors are Mint Green, Watermelon, Light Yellow, and Blue. ~ ~ I've wanted to use my new The Ton Lush Peonies stencils for a while and finally pulled them out this week. They really worked well with these colors! I actually cut the completed stenciled 6 x 6 panel in half and created 2 mini slimline cards for my stash. ~ ~ ~ I used 2 blue Copic sketch markers to color in the blue background after the stenciling was complete. I like the depth it adds. The Picket Fence Fancy... Continue reading

~ Hi, y'all! It's time for our latest and greatest Color Throwdown challenge. This week our colors are Navy, Mustard, and Gray. ~ ~ I'm not going to lie, I struggled with this one. I usually am more comfortable with bright colors or soft beachy colors, so these darker colors threw me for a loop. After much contemplation, I came up with using an A Colorful Life Coiled stencil as a background for a Sizzix/Tim Holtz Bold Text #1 sentiment. ~ ~ I'm satisfied with how it turned out, especially if you back way up and focus on the spiraling... I love this color palette: Light Blue, Dark Blue, Forest Green, and Brown. ~ ~ For once I actually used the inspiration photo to determine my design, complete with mountains and a tree! ~ ~ All of my background layers, including the water colored sky were cut from scraps. The tree was made using a Tim Holtz stencil, which was then fussy cut and layered over the background and the Essential Arches frame. A Tim Holtz sentiment sticker finished it off!
