Couldn't make it into the box today, so I did this one at home: 25-30-30-30 Would've gone up in weight but my home DBs max out at 30 lbs. Also, my wrists were KILLING me by the end of this WOD...poor form? Or weak wrists? Probably a little bit of both :-/ accessory work: 20 burpees / 2:00 plank for 2:00 = not fun

Fun & challenging WOD today. Those jumping lunges felt a little awkward at times, especially my last round, but a new movement for me so I'm okay with that. CLEAN: #115-#120-#125-#130 CLEAN PULLS: #150 Last show I saw was one of the farewell LCD Soundsystem shows at Terminal 5 a few weeks ago. 3+ hours of non-stop dancing. Talk about "awkward movements"...

Today was fun, in the sense that I got over my irrational fear of the rings and went inverted for the first time, so I just focused on staying inverted and worked on getting comfortable with that. I had to channel my inner child to remember what it's like to hang upside on things. Need to work on my handstands for sure, and those back roll to squats will probably come with time and practice, like everything else. I went flying back into the wall on one of my attempts...gotta get that forward momentum going before pushing up with your feet. D'oh! All in all a good beginning to the week. Looking forward to that running seminar next month. Awesome time yesterday, Jenna!

Wow. That was quite a brutal WOD this morning. 23:44 - 65# snatches, box assisted pull-ups. My snatches need a lot of work, but they've come a long way during this past cycle. Thanks to Noah for giving me a good pace to follow and to Margie & Chris for getting me through that last round of snatches and pull-ups. As for spring, I'm really looking forward to WODs with the gate open, enjoying my runs outside, and opening the windows in my apartment. While I love the smell of bigos, chili, brisket,'s time for some fresh air in here ;-)

I haven't done an overhead squat since Foundations back in September, and they were just as hard as I remember. I barely got any weight on the bar and still struggled. But, you gotta start somewhere, right? I wanted to focus on form and get comfortable with the movement, so I did just that. D/Us are still are work in progress for me too. But I'm happy to say that I got 20 on my road to 50 attempts during the WOD today. As for the paleo, I jumped into the challenge unexpectedly, thanks to some words of encouragement from Yosh. I felt like I was playing catch-up all week, as my fridge wasn't fully stocked and I had nothing prepared. But thanks to the loving effort my girl, who went out on her day off and got me some food stuffs, I've been able to stay strict the entire week. I had a few headaches in the first couple of days, and only one day so far have I felt beaten down and tired, but that was more due to an extremely long day at work. Exercising pre-breakfast has been a challenge, but it's getting easier everyday. I'm looking forward to cooking up some great meals this weekend! I'm totally with you, Fox on wanting a drink after work. But honestly, what I miss the most is my post run chocolate milk.
