The frightening thing is the lack of intellectual calibre of the people that Mr Girl refers to. Can anyone explain why this has happened?
Steve Baker adopted for Wycombe
Steve Baker was adopted for Wycombe this afternoon. He beat Kwasi Kwarteng in the final ballot that earlier saw Margaret Doyle, Fiona Kemp, Katy Lindsay and Jeremy Quin eliminated. He will inherit Paul Goodman MP's projected majority of 7,012. Steve is a former RAF pilot engineer officer, an ...
Thanks Eugene, but I am sure they did not go first class and take a Bentley to the Airport. K&C Leaders have real style, even when the trips have no relevance to the Borough.
Devon County Council spent £45,231 on overseas travel over four years
The new Conservative administration presiding at Devon County Council is planning an economy drive on overseas travel. This follows the revelation that under the previous Lib Dem administration spent £45,231 on jet setting between 2005/06 and 2008/09 mostly to Europe. I suppose the Lib Dems migh...
No I think some of you are missing the point. Conservatives do everything better. At Kensington and Chelsea, Councillor Leaders use Bentleys and first class travel to go to the USA. They don't waste their time on European junkets. That is Lib Dem stuff!!

Oh come on SuperBlue, Cockell is not like any other leader. He really travels in style. He could teach you a thing or two about who the trolls are. Have a look at your post - what a mess.
Party Conference guide for councillors
Cllr Merrick Cockell, Chairman of the Conservative Councillors Association and the leader of Kensington and Chelsea Council, offers some tips to Conservative councillors heading for Manchester If the last party conference you attended was in rain swept Blackpool or Bournemouth then prepare for ...
Very odd that Cockell should start this blog. With all the attention from the Evening Standard you would think he might want to keep a low profile for the moment.

Sounds as if you are in the wrong job. Why not become a council leader and get a corporate credit card?
Mark Wallace: Councils would do well to listen to independent grassroots campaign groups
Mark Wallace of The TaxPayers' Alliance highlights the success of a recent grassroots campaign in Bath. You can join the TaxPayers' Alliance for free here. Community-based campaigns, independent of local political parties, are not always a success. Sometimes this is due to badly organised o...
Very interested in Mr Cameron's blog. Do not understand how an elected member's expenses can be paid without disclosing the name of the guest and the purpose of the entertainment and without producing the restaurant bill. In any event the Members Allowance Regulations do not permit members to be reimbursed for entertainment. Nor do they permit members to claim the cost of their weekend breaks.
This all seems very strange, can anyone explain it to me?

And I understand that Mr Cockell has refused to name the person who he treated to the restaurant meal.
Question mark in the audit
OUTRAGE in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea at the news that borough leader Merrick Cockell has been appointed to the Board of the Audit Commission by the new Communities Secretary John Denham. Last week this newspaper revealed that Cockell, who is also the Conservative chair of London...
Donald don't forget the K and C Jaguar and the Bentley that takes the Leader of the Council around London.
Taxpayers Alliance protest "fizzles out"
Cllr Daniel Moylan, of Kensington and Chelsea, resumes his earlier attack on the TaxPayers' Alliance. I am glad to inform fellow Conservatives that the TaxPayers’ Alliance protest against Kensington and Chelsea’s programme of improvements to our urban environment has now definitively fizzled o...
I think Mr Alex is confused in his understanding of democracy and the electoral process. Local and national politicians are (or should be) the servants of their electorate, not their masters. Something it appears that the Conservative Party has lost sight of in K&C.
TaxPayers' Alliance: Insidious anarchists or dangerous dictators?
Cllr Daniel Moylan, the Deputy Leader of Kensington and Chelsea Council, calls on the Conservatives to have nothing to do with the TaxPayers' Alliance. NB Matthew Elliott of the TPA has responded to this article here. Conservatives have tended to be sympathetic to the stated goals of the TaxPa...
Yes it is a very nasty article and a total own goal.
What is Charles Alex's rant all about, get rid of FOI and democracy? Very sad.

Councillor Moylan’s prose is full of vitriol. For years the Conservative ruling majority at Kensington and Chelsea have felt confident that they knew best and the people who elected them were happy to take a back seat and let their Conservative Cabinet rule. But lately the worms have begun to turn. The vanity projects of Sloane Square, Exhibition Road and the monster Holland Park School have received near universal disapproval and Councillor Moylan is now throwing his toys out of the pram. This sort of bad tempered, immoderate article can only damage the Conservative Party, Councillor Moylan, his Cabinet colleagues and Transport for London, where Councillor has been appointed Deputy Chair.
