"I believe, even if I don't always succeed in practising what I preach, that to raise respectful people we should treat them respectfully. " That is a VERY insightful statement. I know a family who forced respect from their children, but never really gave it, especially as they grew into adults. I remember my grandmother telling me I HAD to respect her, but it was never reciprocated. What a disservice to our children if we can't respect their opinions. Fabulous post!
