Hi Jill, thanks so much for your comment--of course, I'd love for you to link to the post about the tic-tac-toe game set, thank you! More than 400 upcycles all in one place is an amazing feat. Congrats on that, I will check it out!
Tic-Tac-Toe Game Set from Simple Quilts and Sewing
A new issue of Simple Quilts and Sewing recently came out. And I’m in it! Okay, I have to fess up… by “recently” I mean October. In the middle of our move, copies of the magazine came to me in the mail. I was so thrilled with the results—the folks at QUILT Magazine did such an amazing job with...

Jacque, you brighten my day every time you stop by... thank you and big hugs back!
Four years.
Our Charlie turned four years old last week. And boy oh boy, was he ready. He’s been talking up his birthday for months. In fact, according to him, it’s still his birthday because it’s still April. And that’s fine with me. Hey, if you can find a reason to celebrate, by all means—celebrate! Char...
Thanks mama--can't wait to see you soon!

Yes... but legends for WHAT? :) You always crack me up, Jacque!

I love music lessons with my boys. Tonight, while folding laundry, we're going old school with a little Frampton Comes Alive! (Do You Feel Like We Do?, of course.) Jack: "Is Peter Frampton dead?" Me: "No." "So, is he really old?" "Well... he's older. He's kind of a rock legend." "If he was dead,...

Thanks, Jeralyn--Happy Valentine's Day!
a wearable handmade valentine: minkee heart wristlet
One of my favorite times of year is here—making handmade valentines with the boys! This year we’re going with this supremely cool idea from I am Momma Hear Me Roar. Photos, construction paper, staples, and Pop Rocks: Jack rocks with all the energy of a late '80s hair band (without the hair). ...

Lisa, I'm so glad you commented today--hi! :) You are sure right about those kids of ours--they always bring a fresh (and often funny) perspective to anything and everything.
Thank you for your kind words about the book; you just made my day. I hope your munchkins will lend you a bit of time to create, although boy do I know those times can sometimes be few and far between. But someday we'll have all the time in the world, and we'll do a 180-degree turn and miss the little ones! Enjoy 'em while you can I guess, huh?
Have a great weekend!
Jenny

I’ve been away from this space for awhile, busy with a new work-related/writing-related project that I’m excited to share soon. (Not sure I’ve ever mentioned before that I work here. It's way cool.) Haven’t had enough time to share much on the blog, which makes me sad. However, Jack and Charlie ...
I am an author too. Last week I turned down an opportunity to be on a popular podcast for the same reasons--pure anxiety and dread. That's just not me either. I had been feeling so guilty about missing an opportunity. Now, after reading about your experience, I don't. I can now say no and realize that's the RIGHT choice for me, not the wrong one! Thank you for turning a situation that had been eating at me on its head.
a squam story
"The one thing I can say right now with enthusiasm and certainty is that if you're in the position to be considering attending Squam - either this fall or next year, but are on the fence for whatever reason - because you don't know anyone else going, because you're not sure it's worth the mone...

Adding insult to injury... more old-person humor, this time from our eldest: Jack: “I have a new friend! His name is Colton. Colton Platt.” Me: “Hey, I knew some Platts when I was a little girl. Dennis, Val, Cathy, and... Continue reading
