Meg, thank you for the kind words on the Grenache, I am delighted you enjoyed it. It was the first TS release of 100% Grenache, a rarity in Russian River, and a product of one of the most challenging vintages for that AVA in decades, especially for a variety that adores heat. As someone who has always respected and followed your palate, I am humbled and pleased by your appreciation. Thanks for also highlighting the Pence Ranch, of which I was not familiar, will have to scout out a bottle! cheers

Glad I saw this Tweet. Alice, there really are more small vintners in California making wine like this than you realize, thanks to the zooming concept of custom crush, dozen of small guys are doing it. Two Shepherds launched last year with only 175 cases, 500 this year. The GSM is 2/3 from cool climate RRV, all native ferments, unfined, unfiltered, under 14% and all neutral oak. As are the Grenache Blanc, Marsanne/Roussanne, and Viognier. ( ) The reds aren't easy sells to standard consumers, but wine aficionados like them, (though young) and are gaga for the whites. Pelin - will you be at Hospice du Rhone? love to connect.
Wow! How awesome Amy. We were so lucky to meet you last week and taste these wines, carried one back home. US Consumers are loco if they don't grab these. Cheers from Simple Hedonisms wine blog!
Great suggestions!
