Since I've been asked, yes, I do custom work. In fact, much of what I make is custom designed for a special event such as a wedding, prom, or holiday event. You can view a few examples at my Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/susannahsheirloom/ Just click on "Photos" and peruse the albums.... Continue reading

So I've been doing a bit of housekeeping and re-named the blog after a business I owned twenty years ago, when I worked primarily with museums and historic sites re-creating garments in their collections for display and interpretation. It was one of the most interesting things I've ever done, and... Continue reading

It just sounded interesting. I had to explore. Adapting a Studio to a Changing Economy Trending items seem to be going toward the more delicate, minimalist, and refined. I hope so! I'm not on for weeks at a time and when I am I lurk, mostly. Actually I do write & make notes on my blog, just not so other peeps can see. I'm kind of a voyeur, perhaps. :)

I like this place. It reminds me of those friendly sorts of posts from our friends list on LJ before it was sold to the Russians and all of us wandered away to less intrusive places (or more intrusive places, like FB). Since I just found you, I'll be looking forward to whenever you decide to post again. :)

For many reasons, both sartorial and practical, not to mention pleasant and economical, I've decided to make all my holiday gifts this year. I've a household full of crafts supplies, fabric, things in storage boxes I've not opened in a decade. It's time to do something fun with all of... Continue reading
