Mine arrived today. Yay! The note explaining the pictures was a really nice touch -- i'm going to have to try to keep that tucked inside my copy for, y'know, ever. Thanks so much, Wil! I can't wait to read this!!

Wil, thanks! That's kinda what i thought, especially from following all the shit you've gone thru' just to get to the point where you could sell the hardcovers. And no worries -- if i want it personalized, maybe next year at PAX i can just work up the courage to say "hi," instead of wimping out to social anxiety like i did this year. :\

Wil, i wasn't sure if you were just autographing these or if you were inscribing them (as in, "To Soandso"). There wasn't a box for special instructions like there was to order the chapbook back in 2006. I only ask because the name on my Ship To is not what i usually go by.

That's awesome! Congrats, Wil. Hmmm, i wonder if our dis-used TV still gets any sort of reception....

Ditto all the above comments about PAX being huge (so huge that, yeah, they had to move to a larger venue for this year's convention). How are you going to be selling your books: only in conjunction with signings, or will you have space in the exhibitor's hall at all (or will the PA crew be selling them at their booth)? You'd probably need slightly fewer books in the former scenario than in the 2nd. Which doesn't help to answer how many to bring. Maybe the PA gang (i.e., that smart Robert Khoo) could give you advice on likely sales numbers? The approximate number i would toss out to you is: Buttload. Do i recall reading in a previous post that you were thinking of bringing only 25 copies of Just a Geek? For example, i would say that's too few -- several orders of magnitude too few. ... In the background, i'm getting unsolicited advice from someone who has worked an exhibitor booth at PAX and is saying, "Or does he mean 25 cases? 'Cause that might be close to enough. Just suggest that he talk to Robert." I plan to be at PAX this year (that is, if the Spousal Unit really does have that pass he promised for me) and am really looking forward to your keynote. Tho' the PAX website does seem to be maddeningly silent on anything else you might be doing, so i guess i'll just drag all my Wil Wheaton books around with me all weekend and, like, stalk you in the hallways until i can get you to autograph them. Or something.

Thanks for the pointer, Wil. I am so very tired of all the credit card solicitations in the mail. My mother once told me, "You know, if you look at the bottom of the solicitation you'll see that there's usually a phone number for you to call to stop receiving them." I said, "Good heavens, why in the WORLD would i OPEN the things?!" Besides which, there's no way i'd waste my time calling every single number, nor do i think for a minute that it would work.

I tried to write a comment on this about 10 minutes ago, but then my calico cat came up and asked for a lap and with her purring turned on she has about +100 adorableness so the laptop lost bigtime.
