Random trivia: I wrote the initial version of the lifebooker site that bethany linked to up back in 06. Totally shocking that it's still around. I guess it pays for the founders to have rich parents... Also, I can totally identify the dish in the picture. OHS: did 95# on the minute, felt good, itching for more weight but decided to actually follow directions for once. My chinups are barely existant and I'm close to a non assisted one.

We destroy a lot of bacon and eggs every morning. Bake the bacon in the oven like 20 min at 400, and either scramble the eggs with some mushrooms, onions and parsley, or whatever else Robin comes up with. We've been saving the bacon fat for other cooking, which is probably makes my depression-era grandparents very happy. And me too. Deadlifted 285 - 295 (PR)- 305 (PR) today, didn't feel overwhelmingly heavy but my form was getting sloppy at the end. Some day I hope to catch up to Katie.

Deadlifts (135x5, 185x, 225x3, short warmup cycle) 250x3, 255x3, 225x3 -- Got the second set ok but was struggled to keep my back right on the way down and was ripping up my hands. So I dropped the weight down to try and do form work. It didn't feel that heavy but felt hard to do correctly. @baz, @asta -- I'm totally with you. Been having headaches for the last few days since I started paleo in earnest and when Fox said that the box jumps could make it worse he wasn't kidding. I did one set and my head was pounding so hard that I basically sat on the couch for 15 minutes trying to keep it under control before heading home and crashing out for 12 hours. Which was actually pretty nice. Going to keep trying to stay hydrated and make sure that I have enough fat.

My headache continued through the night, was finally killed by some ibuprofen, and didn't come back until this afternoon. Other than the drinking heavily, Robin and I have been paleo for a few days before new years so I'm tempted to blame it on that and some body chemistry changes. Or something. In the mean time, I'm drinking water.

Got up to 190 on the front squats, had a little more in me but was pretty close to maxing out. The WOD kicked my ass though. Dropped the weight down to 115 but after the second round of double under attempts my hang over came back with a vengeance and my head was pounding so hard that I without Vince's encouragement I would have tapped out. Didn't really feel right till I took a shower at home. Next time I need to drink less alcohol the night before and way more water in the morning after.

Feeling amped up today. My previous max BSQ was 170 and for the 20 reps I was struggling with 140, but today I felt great and kept piling on the weight up to 250! It was heavy but it didn't feel like the end. I'm also having a better time with my knees, the right one especially used to fall in, so that's probably related. Or it was the third cup of coffee this morning before I went into the gym...
