160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment is conducting urban training in downtown Los Angeles this week. They've previously done it in various other US cities.

I *loved* the C.B. Colby books in elementary school.

It was. Briefly.
Captain Ned, it's pretty rare, since I mostly drive Battleships. But back when I was grinding up the US cruiser line, it happened. Not always, but enough. I'm a very average player. You just get to see the good stuff. Though I just had over half my HP wiped out in a single salvo in my New Mexico. Which, I was undetected, and the salvo was aimed at a Gniesenau next to me. The enemy's gunnery was so bad, he did about 30k damage on what he thought was going to be a complete miss.
Great to meet you, Smedflash! Sorry I didn't have time to chat in game last night (and it was I that almost rammed you). It's amazing the numbers of awesome people I've come to know through the blog and through World of Warships.
Yep. If you've got a DD214 with an honorable discharge, you're good to go. It's online only, though.
Concur. And in line with that, I'm annoyed at the number of field grade officers that describe themselves as strategists. I'd rather see a heck of a lot more people describe themselves as tacticians.

Eh, it's been done. Next time, I'll go with my pic of me in my blues. With a mustache!

Honestly, I'm not sure just what happened.
No, this would be the 1st generation of MREs, with the 12 menus that were in use up until the late 1980s. http://www.mreinfo.com/reviews/mre-reviews/1986-mre-ground-beef/
SFC Dunlap, The only Aussie I've seen for sale right now is expired. And $104. I'll try it if you buy it.
The taste in Scotch was purely Mr. Aggierican's. And I was only allowed half a shot glass. Mostly I made do with Maker's Mark. Which, that's still a cut above my usual.

That's a semi-sorta authorized mod put out by a third party. Not considered a cheat or an aimbot. http://aslain.com/index.php?/topic/2020-06301-aslains-wows-modpack-installer-wpicture-preview/
Stormy, the actual reticule itself is the static Type 7. You can change your reticule on the settings page.
Captain Ned, There's a considerable disconnect between the real world, and the meta of World of Warships. They use various means to attempt to achieve a balance in capabilities across the various tiers of the tech tree.
My understanding is that the Air Force PJs just happened to be on scene, and that the transport to Harborview was aboard the station SAR MH-60.
FTR, I spent the day burning human shit in a barrel with diesel.

Dan, Wiki mentions the shipping cases. Many also used the fuselage for coops or sheds. As to the tie down, it seems ropes were usually sufficient. The Assistant Division Commander of the 101st Airborne, BG Don Pratt was killed in a glider crash at Normandy, when the glider hit a hedgerow. He was sitting in a jeep, and suffered a broken neck from whiplash, but the jeep did not break loose. Pratt was the senior US officer killed in the invasion.

SFC Dunlap, While I was pleased West Point won, that was mostly because I got to give a hard time to some squids. I'm not a West Point grad, and frankly, the only thing USMA ever seemed to do was send me 2LTs. Just how enthusiastic about the place can you expect me to be?
I follow Mary and SNO on Facebook, and the Kat on Twitter. They seem to be doing quite well.

I do indeed remember both versions of BB&BO. And if you like to read (have your wife help you sound out the big words) there's a monograph by the same name about logistics in the Pacific War here: https://www.history.navy.mil/research/library/online-reading-room/title-list-alphabetically/b/beans-bullets-black-oil.html
